Handicaps
In order to take part in competitions or fixtures you must have an active handicap. This can be obtained by getting a parent or friend who has a handicap to mark a card for you. This card can be over 9 or 18 holes and you will be awarded your handicap once you have completed either 3 x 18 hole cards or 4 x 9 hole cards (or 3 x 9 hole cards for junior beginners). If you do not have a handicap you can play 9 holes in some fixtures, and someone will mark your card as one of your three cards. Please let me know when you have had a card marked for you so that I can look out for them left either with the Professional, in the box in the men’s locker room, or at the Secretary’s office. Please make sure any cards left are signed by both yourself and the person who marks the card, and also dated.
If any player with a handicap, wishes to enter a supplementary medal score they can do so by taking out a card from the Pro’s shop and recording it in his book. This card will then be used to adjust your handicap if you feel that you should have a lower handicap than you currently have.
